Special Update for Lester

Special Update for Lester

Dear Friends,

I’m writing you a very special update to share some very special news. Are you sitting down?

I’VE BEEN ADOPTED! And, as if that isn’t the most glorious news ever, it gets even better: My new family is also adopting three other Tabby’s Place kitties – Fontina, El Tigre, and Dusty Rhodes. The couple adopting us are no strangers to Tabby’s Place. One of them is a volunteer and board member. We’ve gotten to really know each other lately. She takes a lot of the cute photos of me that you see in my monthly updates.

To be honest, I had accepted that I’d probably never get adopted. I’ve spent so many years at Tabby’s Place and, while I love it and all the people here, I’m excited and filled with emotion about going “home.”

Lester at home!

My new home will have lots of room to roam and special places to chill out. It’s filled with cat cubbies, trees, beds, blankets and toys. There’s even a place where I can safely enjoy fresh air through a screen door, because my new family knows how much I loved the solarium. My people work from home, and I’m told I can help out in the office, lounge across keyboards or in front of monitors, crash Zoom calls and provide general assistance or cuteness.

My two favorite things about my new home are (1) all the love and attention I’ll get from my own dedicated people who are home a lot, and (2) it’s a peaceful, quiet home so I can finally get away from the sometimes rowdy and rough-and-tumble FIV+ guys (I know, I used to be one of them!). The only downside is they will be continuing the special diet for my sensitive tummy. I’ll see if I can charm them into changing their minds about that.

My new family has been busy preparing to bring us all home. They are amazing people, and I’m honored they chose to share their hearts and their home with me. I’m also grateful to the Tabby’s Place crew who took such good care of me and loved me well. But, most of all, I want to thank you for supporting me and believing in me all these years. You’ve been an important part of my experience at Tabby’s Place. I will love you and think of you always. Click here to listen to me happily purr on my very own couch!

All my love,

Lester

Since Lester has found a home to call his own, your sponsorship has been transferred to another Special Needs cat: charming Fenek. Fenek has diabetes so he receives daily insulin injections and eats a special diet that helps to regulate his glucose levels. Fenek shares an office with our Director of Volunteers and another special needs kitty, Bacon.

If you’d prefer to choose a different cat to sponsor, you can meet them all here. Please feel free to email us if you’d like to transfer your support to a different kitty. (Otherwise, going forward you will receive updates on Fenek each month.)

Thank you again for your kindness and generosity to Lester. You’ve helped to make this marvelous news possible for him (and Fontina, El Tigre, and Dusty Rhodes), and we’re so grateful!
