Finally, the snow and cold weather are behind us, and spring is around the corner! Miracles abound during springtime. Daffodils, crocuses, and tulips rise and sing in our flower beds despite winter’s single-digit temps and almost 2 feet of snow. The trees are covered in sweet-smelling flowers, and robins arrive and run here and there looking for worms.
Since I last wrote to you, a very special miracle happened involving our dear friend, Chicken Nugget! One cold February morning, I was drinking my coffee, trying to solve Wordle, when my phone sounded with a text message. I looked at my phone and was surprised to see the message was from a Tabby’s Place staff member. I read the message, my mouth fell open, and tears of joy filled my eyes. The message said, “I’m bringing Chicken Nugget and Cornbread home!”
You read it right, Chicken Nugget and his good friend Cornbread were adopted! That very day, I made them a “Happy Adoption” bag with two soft kitty beds and kitty treats, and spent time with them before they headed home. I gave Chicken Nugget lots of love and pets and air kisses to Cornbread (just the way he likes it), and thanked their adopter (the miracle maker) repeatedly.
Chicken Nugget and Cornbread now live in a loving home and are in the care of highly experienced and hugely compassionate kitty parents. They have new kitty friends, and even are back together with one of their Tabby’s Place suitemates (Jed) again.
I’m also pleased to share that Chicken Nugget’s health situation is stable right now, and he is thriving in his new home. He enjoys lounging on comfy cat beds and sitting by the big glass door and windows. He’s in for a big surprise soon because the outdoor catio will be opened, and he’s going to love being outside again!

Since Chicken Nugget has found his forever family, your sponsorship has been transferred to another Advanced Needs cat: sweet Rihanna. Like Chicken Nugget, Rihanna is FIV+ and currently lives in Suite I, our second FIV+ suite. In addition to her FIV+ status, Rihanna eats a special diet and received daily medications to help with her chronic constipation.
