When they were handing out cat colors, we think Twinkie went back for seconds. We’ve never seen a cat quite like her; she’s a paler orange cat with dark gray tabby stripes, although this pattern is most noticeable on her underside. On top, she looks like a somewhat dilute tortoiseshell. We estimate she was born around May of 2008, so she’s a young girl.

Twinkie has no health problems, though it’s a wonder she’s alive at all. She and three more of our cats were taken from just one home in which 93 (yes, ninety-three) cats were somehow surviving in absolutely deplorable conditions. As might be expected, Twinkie is very frightened right now. However, she’s in one of our smaller rooms with the three other cats from that house (Trifle, Cupcake, and Strudel). It’s our hope that she’ll calm down considerably once she figures out that her bad days are behind her.
