Sol, as we call her, arrived at Tabby’s Place at approximately two days of age. As you might know, the survival rate for kittens so young without their Mom is not especially good, but survive Sol has. Our best guess is that she was born on or near June 8, 2011. Sol is a tiny little mite, and we don’t think she’ll ever be very big, but we do believe she’ll be quite pretty as an adult. She’s got medium-length fur, black on her back and sides, but gray on her tummy. Her eyes are blue-green now, but we don’t know if they’ll stay that way or become the usual green.

Little Sol can be vocal at times and has a surprisingly loud squeak. She absolutely loves to play and, typically for a kitten, can move with incredible speed.

Having been raised as a bottle baby, Sol is very keen on human company. As is the case with most bottle babies, she’s often quite “mouthy”; she chews on everything. For this reason Sol would do best with someone experienced with kittens, who can lay down the law with her gently but firmly.

At this writing (7/29/11), Sol is too small to be spayed, but we’ll take care of that when she’s gotten big enough. Because she lacked a Mother’s guidance growing up, she has very little fear of anything, so she must be kept indoor-only, even as an adult!

If you’ve been thinking about adding a kitten to your household, don’t miss this cute, funny little girl!
