Our Socks is a funny guy. From the beginning, he’s shown us that he likes humans and human attention. It’s especially evident when you decide you’re going to stop petting him. If he does not agree with this decision (and he very seldom does), he’ll reach out a paw for your hand when you pull it away. Even when he was new in his suite and feeling his way with all the other felines there, he obviously enjoyed human company. He was not able to come up and rub on me initially (suitemate Adelaide was on my lap, and she was having none of that), he sat down a few feet away, tucked his front paws under him, and purred.

We think Socks was born sometime in 2010. He’s on the large side, with white on all four feet and a white chest and tummy; the rest of his coat is a solid darker grey. Because he is FIV+, he’s one of our Special Needs cats.
