We’ve read that darker-colored cats often get ignored by potential adopters, but we hope that won’t be true here. Serj is a wonderful guy with a sad story. He was adopted as a kitten, then bounced from home to home. Finally, he was surrendered to a shelter in Kentucky, as the people who had him at the time said they simply had too many other pets. With the high kill rate among many Southern shelters, we know Serj is lucky just to be here.
What we don’t understand is how anyone could not want to keep Serj. He’s quite a large boy, but his paws still look as though he’s meant to be twice his size (since he was born sometime around the beginning of 2008, we’re not expecting him to get much bigger). Serj’s coat is a solid dark gray, and he has pale green eyes. He likes attention from people and is a very laid-back kind of guy, with an unusually quiet purr. We know he’d do well in many environments, and we’d like nothing better than to find him the “forever” home he truly deserves.
