What could have happened to poor Pirate? He’s a handsome, large, all-black male, but he’s nearly blind. That might be understandable if he was an elderly cat, but he’s a young animal—only about 18 months old (as of 2/09), according to our best guess. But one eye is gone entirely, and the other is scarred so heavily he has almost no vision in it. What’s all the more remarkable is that he was living outside before he came to Tabby’s Place; how on earth did he survive?
Pirate is a sweet boy with people, although once in a while he can get a little nervous at something that happens, probably due to his much-reduced vision. He likes other cats as well, but we’re guessing (and it’s only a guess) that he might not do so well around dogs. Again, that’s related to his eyesight.
Pirate would make a wonderful addition to a quiet, multi-cat household. Come in and meet him today!
