Monkey

“Monkey” seems a funny name for a cat, but this little guy is so agile he can do everything but climb walls. He’s a young animal, born in the spring of 2010, according to our best estimate. Monkey is a small, almost-all-black male, with just a few white hairs on his chest. We know something about his background: he lived in a home with at least one dog and one other cat, but he was surrendered to a shelter in Missouri (we really do get cats from all over). The shelter in MO noted that he’s very fond of dogs, but we have no first-hand knowledge of that. We do know that Monkey is extremely energetic and very friendly with humans. He likes to be held, too.

Currently, Monkey has some form of allergic dermatitis. We’re not certain what he’s allergic to, but he’s responded well to oral medication. We’ll be weaning him off the medication in the next couple of weeks, and we’ll wait to see what happens afterward; if his allergic reaction recurs, we’ll take further action as necessary.

This sociable, sweet boy is waiting for a true “forever” home; we know he’d make a fine companion cat for many types of families. Could it be yours?
