Why are so many of the cats at Tabby’s Place so large? We don’t have an answer for that; they’re just big cats when they arrive here. In Joe’s case, it isn’t even due to extra weight. He’s not fat—he’s just a magnificent, very large male, all black. While his appearance is imposing, he’s generally a sweet boy. We know he lived in a private home as a foster for a while, and he did very well with the people there. However, it is important to note that he is afraid of dogs and small children, so he must go to a home without them. He was also fine with the other cats in the household, except for one who severely bullied him. For this reason, we think he’d be OK with other felines in a home, provided they were not too domineering.

We know a lot of folks out there are “big cat” fans, and we’re just as confident that one of them will want to take our beautiful big guy home.
