Jennifer Ann
Jennifer Ann is one scared girl right now, but who wouldn’t be? She’d been living comfortably in a home for many years (we estimate she was born in the spring of 1998, so she’s a senior citizen) when her owner suddenly passed away.
Fortunately, her owner had been a friend of Tabby’s Place since we opened, and he had made arrangements some time ago for his cats to come to our sanctuary if something should happen to him. We wish we could explain this to Jennifer Ann, as she’s clearly very unnerved by her new situation, even though we have her in a small room with only two other cats (one of whom she lived with previously).
She’s a pretty black-and-white female (most of the white is on her face), and she’s in good health as far as we can determine. Clearly, though, Jennifer Ann will require some time to calm down. Because she has been known to hiss and swat when approached, we strongly suggest she go to a home with no small children, at least for the present.
Update, 2/26/12: Jennifer Ann has calmed down considerably since her arrival here. Sadly, she was recently diagnosed with kidney disease. We are treating her with fluids to support her kidneys and monitoring her kidney values closely. There is no way to predict how quickly Jennifer Ann’s kidney disease will progress, but we plan on keeping her as comfortable as possible for as long as we are lucky enough to have her with us.
