Jambalaya
Jambalaya is yet another member of our unofficial “Big Cats” Club. He’s an extra-large guy (who could, in truth, stand to lose some weight). His lower half is mostly white, and his upper half (including his tail) is mostly black. The shelter from which he came to us noted that he likes dogs, but we’re not sure how they know, nor have we had a chance to test this out for ourselves.
What we do know is that Jambalaya likes people. One of the staff says that he follows her around and cries for attention when she’s in the suite, and he’s certainly one of the most sociable cats there. He enjoys rolling on his back and often does so around people.
Jambalaya was born early in 2005. When Jambalaya first came to us he had diarrhea on and off, but since we’ve started him on a special diet and oral medication he’s been doing well. Otherwise, he’s a healthy boy.
Jambalaya is looking for someone who can give him lots of love and attention. If you’re interested in such a cat, come in to meet this big boy!
Update, 2/27/12: We’ve managed to wean Jamba off of his medication and special diet, and he’s doing great! We’re continuing to monitor his stools closely, but, so far, his issues seem to have resolved.
