There are times when I think we should hire Hughley out as a diplomat. He’s so outgoing and affectionate that he’d be the perfect solution to stalled negotiations. Just his presence would lower the level of tension in the room, and it’s hard to quarrel over the language in a bill when you have a vocal feline who so obviously wants your attention.

Aside from all that, Hughley is handsome enough so that all opposing parties would have to agree on his good looks. He’s a medium-sized male, with white on his chest and tummy, white whiskers, and a funny little white stripe down his nose. He also has white on his front paws and black legs; the rest of his coat is black. He has beautiful yellow-green eyes, too. Our best guess is that Hughley is about 6 years old as of late January, 2010. Sadly, this sweet boy does have a few minor medical issues. He has a moderate case of gingivitis and occasional diarrhea, which we believe is due to having gone through multiple courses of antibiotics before coming to Tabby’s Place. Hughley is currently on a special diet to control his diarrhea and we are hoping to wean him to regular food soon if he continues to do well.

In addition to his other fine qualities, our Hughley gets along as nicely with other felines as he does with people. Do come in to meet him, even if you’re not associated with the diplomatic corps; it’s easy to see that this is one great guy.
