Fredrick was found as a stray in a shed. He’s of medium size, with a mostly white underside and a mostly dark brown top half, though he also has some white on his face. He’s gentle with people and good-natured overall. We believe he was born in 2014.
Since Fredrick is FIV+, he’s one of our Special Needs crew. We know that many people believe that having FIV means a cat will not live a long life, but from experience, that’s just not so. It is possible that a cat with FIV might not live as long as a cat without it, but it is not a certainty. What IS true is that you must be vigilant about the health of an FIV+ cat. They must have a good-quality diet and regular check-ups.
We understand that not everyone can commit to the extra time and effort needed to adopt an FIV+ feline. But if it’s possible for you to do so, if you can provide the TLC for one of these very special cats, we hope you’ll consider taking this sweet boy into your life and home.
