Eloise

Eloise is doing beautifully at Tabby’s Place—so beautifully, in fact, that it’s often hard to remember how painfully shy she was when she came to us a few months ago. Her previous owner passed away, and Eloise was given to a shelter; it can be difficult for any animal to handle such a change. When Eloise first arrived here, she was very timid indeed. But lots of patient attention, and a rather shamefully large number of cat treats, have helped to transform this elegant little lady.

Our “El” is a long-haired calico, with the typical tufts of fur in her ears and between her toes. She has a white chest, as well as white on her face, paws, and tummy. She’s also got orange on her face. Her right ear is crinkled, possibly from an old injury, but it doesn’t bother her in the slightest. Eloise has long white whiskers and is of medium size; of late, she’s, er, put on a pound or two (no doubt the result of all those treats).

Get her started, and Eloise has a very loud purr. Our El gets along nicely with other cats, and in particular seems to like Lady Grey, one of the shyest cats in her room. Despite the fact that she has become so much friendlier with us (even climbing into some laps on occasion, I’m told), Eloise requires a relatively quiet environment. As far as we can tell, our pretty calico has no health issues.

If you’ve been looking for a longer-haired cat, or just an exceptionally eye-appealing feline, come in to meet Eloise. As the ads say, she “must be seen to be believed”!
