Benny

Benny and Joon were born near the end of July, 2013. They are brother and sister, and quite devoted to one another. Joon is a lovely, all-black female. When she came to us, she had a ruptured eyeball that was very seriously infected. We removed that eye as a result, and she should have no long-term issues from that (her remaining eye is fine). Our vet tech describes her as a doll. Despite all manner of medical examinations and treatment, Joon has been consistently tolerant and laid-back. She likes people but is a little timid with us right now (12/20/13), as she and her brother have just been moved into the Community Room.

Benny is the more retiring cat of the two. He’s a handsome, all-gray guy, and the gray is more of a brighter shade than a darker one. He’s shy, and he often takes his cues on how to behave from Joon. Benny enjoys attention but he does need to be better socialized, and we’re working on that. Benny has juvenile cataracts. They have not been removed, because we know that the earlier these are removed in a young cat’s life, the greater their chance of recurring. Our feline ophthalmologist has seen Benny and wants to see him again in March of 2014 before anything is done. Note that if Benny is adopted prior to this appointment, Tabby’s Place will pay for the appointment.

Both Benny and Joon are somewhat small for their age. Because they truly love each other, we strongly prefer that they be adopted together, but it is not mandatory. Come in to meet this pair; they really are sweet little ones.
