“Peeka … Peeka … Peek-A-Boo! Where are you? Come out from your hiding place. Peek-A-Boo! I see you! It’s good to see your smiling face.”—Traditional children’s nursery rhyme
It was a long, arduous journey from the war-torn streets of Beirut, Lebanon to the warm, welcoming arms outstretched for Peeka at Tabby’s Place. Hungry and fearful, this little calico craved comfort and attention for so very, very long that they became a distant dream. When hope in the form of regular meals and a cozy place to rest each and every night arrived, Peeka simply couldn’t believe her eyes.
For such a young cat, Peeka has experienced an overwhelming amount of hardship. As a result, while she adores attention, she doesn’t necessarily have the best manners. She can get overstimulated easily and needs an adopter who will work with her slowly, observing her body language and respecting her boundaries as she learns to love and be loved. She’s a very special cat for a very special person. And while she loves people and everything that comes with them (treats included!), Peeka isn’t a fan of other cats, and we think she would do best in a one-cat home.
Every journey begins with baby steps, and Peeka has come so far already. Are you the one to help her to her destination … a loving, forever home to call her own? Fill out an online adoption application today!
