Roberta has known a world that wasn’t always kind. Born into an outdoor colony, she learned early how to survive—but not how to trust. And now, blind and unable to return to the only home she ever knew, she finds herself in a new world with lots of people that’s confusing and more than a little scary.

She’s a petite brown tabby with a wary gaze and a heart that’s still on guard. She doesn’t run to greet you. She doesn’t purr in your lap. But if you go slowly—so slowly—and speak softly, she’ll allow a gentle touch. Just be mindful—she may hiss or swat if she feels threatened or overwhelmed.

Roberta needs to feel safe and to understand that human hands can bring comfort, not fear. And she needs a safe haven with a patient, loving adopter who is willing to walk beside her without expecting too much in return. She does like other cats and would do well in a multi-cat home where she can learn from confident feline companions and find comfort in their company.
