Partial facial paralysis

The great philosopher Martin Buber once said, “An animal’s eyes have the power to speak a great language.” One look in Itsy Bee’s eyes and you know this calico has a very deep story.

At Tabby’s Place, we believe our cats have plenty to say . . . but only to those who know how to listen with their heart. Itsy Bee’s tale isn’t yet a happy story. This demure little calico cat came to us after she was hit by a car. Her injuries were serious and painful, but with excellent veterinary care and love from special volunteers, she survived and made an excellent recovery. Although Itsy Bee’s face is partially paralyzed, she requires no special care.

The trauma Itsy Bee suffered, though, has left its mark. Our gorgeous girl is still quite fearful, and she will need a patient adopter to help her come out of her self-protective shell. However, once she feels safe, she greatly enjoys pets and chin rubs. Sometimes a little treat can help break the ice! Itsy Bee also finds comfort in other cats and would do well in a home with other laid-back felines.
