Penelope may be a grand dame at fifteen years old, but this beautiful lady makes even the youngsters at Tabby’s Place wish they could look so good in a tuxedo.

With her long and elegant white whiskers, Penelope is every inch a feminine feline of dignity and grace. Very sweet with people, she knows just what she likes – and what she doesn’t. Much like her namesake of Greek legend, Penelope is loyal beyond measure. In the ancient Homeric tale, Penelope’s husband Odysseus goes off to war for more than twenty years. Stunningly beautiful, she is courted by many, many suitors eager for her hand and control of Odysseus’ kingdom. Yet, Penelope remains steadfast in her faithfulness to her husband, even when all hope of his return seems gone. When, at last, he comes home to claim her and his throne, Penelope is celebrated for her wisdom, strength, and genuine, enduring love. Yes, our girl is just like that.

When it comes to other cats, Penelope can be a bit cranky and opinionated. Indeed, she does like her own space. That may be a comfortable, blanket-lined cubby hole or a plush, plumped-up basket. Either one will work just fine but, once she’s picked her spot, Penelope isn’t moving for any other feline. The vibe is definitely, “Don’t test me. This place is mine all mine.” We believe that, as a doyenne of her breed, she’s earned it.

Penelope’s former owner will miss her greatly but was unable to continue taking care of her needs. Could you be this lovely, loyal lady’s new best friend and companion? Fill out an online adoption application today!
