Cerebellar Hypoplasia

Kiko has come to wobble himself right into your laps – and hearts!

Kiko landed himself in our sanctuary in August 2022 with a whole gaggle of other feline wonders from the country of Lebanon. Kiko has a condition called cerebellar hypoplasia (CH), also known commonly as “wobbly cat syndrome.” This means that the cerebellum, the part of the brain that deals with balance and coordination, did not develop correctly in utero. Kiko has difficulty walking and will often “flop” over and wobble. This doesn’t slow this happy-go-lucky boy down one bit, however! The most important part is that Kiko’s condition is not painful or progressive.

This active youngster doesn’t let his wobbliness get in the way of having a good time. Kiko can often be found tottering around with one of his favorite toys in his mouth and loves to chase around a wand toy. He may not be the most coordinated of felines, but he is a big fan of The Red Dot and all things fun! Once he’s tuckered himself out, he’ll find a nice cushy bed to lounge in and take a well deserved nap or may even curl up in your lap.

Our beloved Kiko is looking for a home that is equipped to handle his special needs. Kiko has plenty of love to offer the right family, but will need some accommodations in his home, like a special litterbox and bowls to keep him from accidentally creating messes. As always, our adoption team is ready to speak with anyone who is interested in learning more about Kiko and his needs. Fill out an adoption application today!
