Kiko

“Fall seven times, stand up eight.” – Zen proverb

“Fall seven hundred times, turn it into the Dance Of Joy.” – Kiko

You can’t keep a good cat down, and this world has never seen a better cat than Kiko. We do mean the whole world: Kiko danced 5,652 miles across the Atlantic to find his bliss at Tabby’s Place.

But life was once no party for the little cat with the disco-ball eyes. Kiko was born with cerebellar hypoplasia, a non-progressive neurological condition that impairs a cat’s fine motor skills. “CH” cats are not in any pain, and can enjoy long, healthy lives. But in a case as severe as Kiko’s, just walking is a heroic effort, punctuated by tumbles.

Struggling through the streets of Beirut is hard for any stray, but when you can hardly stay on your feet, it’s hard to stay hopeful.

Unless, of course, your name is Kiko.

A cat of uncommon cheer, Kiko clattered along with courage…and fell into the arms of selfless rescuers.

The angels of Animals Lebanon would do anything for a cat in need, but they knew Kiko required extraordinary care. Fortunately, Tabby’s Place is known around the world as the haven where cats who have fallen into hopeless situations can rise on the wings of love. And so, the tumbling cat with the graceful soul soared across the sea.

Our world has never been the same since.

And if you open your heart to Kiko, you’ll be forever changed, too.

Spend five minutes in his presence, and you’ll find yourself kicking up your heels. It’s the Kiko Effect: our little boy is so smitten with life, he makes you dance (at least in your heart). As he teeters and totters, Kiko considers the world his playground, and he’s not about to waste one second feeling sorry for himself. As far as he’s concerned, he was born perfect, and he’s out to convince you that you’re pretty sensational, too!

With a heart as big as the ocean, Kiko seems sure to find his “forever dance party” someday. But we realize this will take a very special adopter, willing to gently clean up after his rowdy bathroom habits (he uses the litter box, but awkwardly) and to maintain an environment where he can’t accidentally hurt himself.

In the meantime, our extraordinary boy just keeps kicking our joy up a notch. And as his sponsor, you can keep him dancing every day. Your donation will provide skilled care to bathe and tenderly care for Kiko, as well as a prescription diet for his gastrointestinal issues.

Kiko is the king of our Community Room, where a specially outfitted pen protects him from harm. He’s smitten with everyone he meets, and has become the captain of our “stroller brigade,” basking in sunny walks through our gardens. It’s our honor to care for his needs, and your monthly donation will keep him safe, clean, and comfortable.

Kiko can’t help falling, but we can’t help falling in love with him. And with a friend like Kiko, you’ll find yourself standing up and cheering every day.

Will you accept his invitation to the dance?
