With a temperament more akin to a feisty tortie than a calm calico, Cammy has an independent attitude and a strong spirit. She may not be a big girl, but she makes up for her size with gusto and guts. We aren’t quite sure what Cammy’s backstory is, but she arrived at our doors via another shelter in NYC.
Cammy gets along fine with other cats, but prefers a fellow feline on the more relaxed side. She loves finding a good spot to chill in a cubby, cat tree, or hidey bed and doesn’t mind if someone comes to join her, but she can be a bit overwhelmed by nosier cats. She would do best in a quiet home with other calm cats and no small children.
Cammy needs a home that understands and respects her boundaries. She is currently not the hugest fan of being handled but is very food motivated. Shake a bag of treats and Cammy will come running to get some! We are hoping that we will be able to win over her heart with a good bunch of treats as she is beginning to settle into her suite.
Cammy was recently diagnosed with diabetes insipidus. Unlike regular diabetes, Cammy does not require daily blood sugar checks or insulin, but she does need daily medication for her condition. Her body is unable to regulate her hydration, meaning that she drinks and uses the litterbox frequently. Her condition can be managed in the right home.
