Mr. Dracula is a testament to the wonderful generosity of cat lovers and animal welfare advocates across the country.

Mr. Dracula’s story started all the way in the faraway land of Texas. We’re not sure of his exact origins, but based on his temperament, we imagine he was well loved in his younger years.  Unfortunately, a true tragedy befell this gentle soul – a cancer diagnosis. GI lymphoma, to be exact. While cats with lymphoma can be stable for a number of years with treatment, the shelter where he was surrendered was unfortunately not able to take on his special needs.

Mr. Dracula’s story could have simply ended there – an old, sick, homeless cat with the odds stacked against his favor. But little did Mr. Dracula know that he had a secret weapon on his side: an entire army of amazing volunteers ready to transport him to a cat sanctuary! With a flurry of messages and social media posts and pleas for willing drivers, a crew of amazing people decided that they were determined to bring Mr. Dracula to Tabby’s Place. Luckily, the odds were in the old man’s favor, and Mr. Dracula’s volunteer chain from Texas to New Jersey was ready to hit the road. Here at Tabby’s Place, we waited impatiently for the arrival of our guest of honor.

We are so glad that we could finally welcome the handsome Mr. Dracula into our sanctuary. Here, we are able to provide daily care and monitor his condition to ensure that he lives in comfort and safety. He is now a resident of the Executive Suite along with fellow special needs kitties Stafford and Shiny and the (human) Jonathan Rosenberg, founder of our sanctuary. With his gentle demeanor and eager expression, Mr. Dracula is quickly winning over the hearts of our volunteers and staff.

Tabby’s Place wouldn’t be able to take on special needs cats like Mr. Dracula without your support. Your generosity enables us to provide all the love and medical care that they need. Please consider supporting Tabby’s Place and cats like Mr. Dracula.
