Hyperthyroid

Hobo may be an older gentleman, but he sometimes acts like a teenage punk!

Hobo came to us from another shelter after he had to be surrendered by his elderly owner. Hobo unfortunately didn’t thrive in the shelter environment and became very sick and underweight due to his thyroid condition. Luckily, Hobo was able to come to us and get the daily care that he needs!

In foster, Hobo began to show off his spunky personality. He quickly became confident in his foster room and demanded to be let out so he could hang out with the people! He loves to roam around and explore the space and often was found hiding in the tub or sticking his face in any bit of water he could find. Although most other cats detest water, Hobo loves to play in his water bowl and will stick both his paws and face in! He also is not afraid to stick his nose in potted plants and occasionally knocks them over.

Hobo is currently a beloved resident of our Lobby. He can be found roaming around in between taking naps in any of his various “spots” – under the couch, on the chairs, behind the cat trees, in a cage, or behind the front desk! He loves chin and neck scratches but is not a huge fan of being picked up or handled. He prefers to be “the boss” and doesn’t like being told what to do!

Hobo is a spirited dude despite his age and special needs.  We are so glad he is now with us!
