Lucinda has had a difficult start to life. As a kitten, she was found on the streets of Kuwait and luckily found herself in the loving arms of a foster home. She was reportedly friendly and got along fine with the other cats.

But life was about to change dramatically for Lucinda. Her fosterer knew that she would have difficulty finding a Forever Home in Kuwait and reached out to Tabby’s Place for help. Luckily, we were able to welcome her and several other cats  to our sanctuary.

Lucinda was very, very scared when she first arrived. She hissed and huddled in a cardboard box, looking at all humans with big, terrified eyes. We don’t know exactly what happened during her journey to the United States, but we can only assume that the stress of traveling and leaving behind everything that she ever known truly spooked our poor Lucinda.

In the months of quarantine due to COVID-19, however, Lucinda has benefited from the quiet atmosphere. She is beginning to warm up to our staff and showing that there is a sweet cat underneath all that fear. Lucinda loves food and will come running when she hears the treat bag. When she’s in the mood, she will allow some petting and will occasionally even flop on her side and expose her belly. If you don’t give her a treat, she will meow at you with her tiny voice. She loves to play with electronic enrichment toys and hang out with her feline friends. She can be a truly sweet young lady once you have earned her trust. All she needs is the right person who is willing to show her lots of love and patience to help her open up and become the friendly cat that she was before.

Could Lucinda be the one for you? Come and visit her during our public hours! Please see our Visit Us page for more information.
