Koda is sugar and spice. She’s a sweet girl, but she can be a little feisty at times. She likes to hang out in her favorite spot where she can easily spot anyone walking past the door. She stares everyone down with her gorgeous green eyes, daring them to enter and be her friend! Koda makes an adorable expression whenever you pet her and especially likes head and butt scritches.
Koda is a big, beautiful brown tabby who first arrived at Tabby’s Place in Fall 2019. She came to us from a shelter in South Jersey, where it was discovered that she suffers from a seizure disorder. Although such a condition can present challenges for a public shelter, Tabby’s Place was equipped to manage Koda’s seizures with medication. Koda’s condition is now well controlled and her true personality has begun to shine now that she is feeling much better.
Don’t let Koda’s special needs keep you from considering her. Her condition is easily managed by sprinkling her medication in her wet food, which she eats with relish (and maybe a bit too much relish, as she is a chunky lady). Koda is doing very well and hasn’t had any seizures in the recent past. With her current regimen, we imagine she will live a long, healthy life in the right home.
While she’s on the independent side, Koda doesn’t mind other cats. She prefers to find her own spot in the sun and take a nice snooze and doesn’t have any problems with her feline roommates unless they decide to stick their noses in her business. She is a very relaxed lady who would do well in a quiet home where she can get lots of treats, brush time, and naps.
All this striking kitty lacks is a loving home. And although she requires a little extra TLC, the right caretaker will have no issues managing Koda’s condition—plus they will earn the love and trust of this chonky lady.
