Missing one front paw, skin allergies

Although he’s named like a pirate and has the good looks of Jack Sparrow, Peg Leg Pete is much more dapper gentleman than rough-and-tumble swashbuckler. Pete would much rather couch surf that sail the seven seas. As soon as you enter the room, Pete will seek out your love, beckoning you forwards with his intense golden gaze. Maybe the treasure isn’t buried in a secret chest – rather, it’s laying happily on a cat bed.

Pete’s namesake comes from his missing front leg – his “peg leg.” Years ago, Pete came to us with severely infected front legs and one could not be saved. Pete’s disability may mean that he is slower than other cats, but he is still plenty able to get around on his own. He likes to climb up to the windows to get some snacks or find a nice spot to cuddle by the window.

Pete is a happy-go-lucky boy who gets along great with everyone, human and feline! Pete loves to find a good cuddle buddy and snuggle next to them in a bed. He has often been found with his favorite fellow snuggler, Miss June. He’s a big boy with a big heart who just wants to be friends with whoever he meets. He would love to be adopted into a home with other cat-friendly cats and with a human family that is home more often so he can receive all the love he desires.

Pete has a skin condition that flares up every once in awhile. His condition requires monitoring for any sores and occasional treatments. However, his condition can be easily managed by an adopter who is prepared to take on his special needs.
