We often lament that cats can’t tell us what they’ve been through. In McNulty’s case, he didn’t have to. It was written all over his body when he arrived. The scars on his face, gouges in his ears, missing patches of fur, the crook in his tail, and that painful limp–there was no question–McNulty had it rough before coming to Tabby’s Place.
It took many, many months, but McNulty healed. His limp is all but gone. He’s grown a nice, healthy coat. You can only see tiny hints of where his scars once were. And, much to our surprise, this cat who came in looking like a street thug on the outside, proved himself to be made of marshmallow on the inside. McNulty just wants comfort and love from people. He loves to snuggle in laps, and will even lap hop if he has too many laps to choose from, making sure he gets to cuddle with everyone.
Of course, his rough start in life has taken a bit of a toll. McNulty’s health is not the best. He’s FIV positive and has kidney disease. The good news is having special needs gets him special attention, which he’s happy to soak up. McNulty is so happy to finally be safe and free of pain, but he has bigger dreams of one day having a family of his own.
