Anyone who knows Divya knows she can be a bit of a diva. She’s a bit particular about when and where she wants to be pet. She loves to be scratched on the top of her head. Whenever she’s fed, she insists that a servant hold her dish for her, as she can’t stand when her food slides across the desk. She only sleeps in the softest of beds and her favorite spots include the top of the reception desk and the couch. After all she’s been through, however, we will forgive Divya for her picky proclivities.
Sweet Divya lived in a loving home from the time she was a small kitten until her owner passed away. Sadly, no one wanted to take over Divya’s care when this happened, and she was abandoned outside. Having never been outside before, she was unable to find enough food and began to starve. As is not uncommon for cats when their food supply is suddenly cut off, she developed fatty liver disease. In her case, it was quite severe.
A Good Samaritan found Divya collapsed in her backyard and knew she was in desperate need of care. Divya was taken to an emergency hospital where she was treated and stabilized. But, Divya was desperately ill and would have a long recovery if she were to survive. She received all the love and care we could offer at Tabby’s Place and miraculously made a full recovery after several weeks.
Now, Divya is our official Receptionist Cat. She greets all our visitors and supervises adoptions. She enjoys all the attention and responsibility that comes along with her post, but she would be happy to give it all up to be in a loving home again. Come visit Queen Divya and her subjects during our public hours. Please see our Visit Us page for updated information.
