Update for Steven

Dear Team Steven,

Happy New Year and Welcome to 2026!

Steven and I are greeting you with gusto as we leave 2025 behind and leap (well, maybe, step)  into the first days of the new year.

In preparation for this exciting new beginning, Steven scheduled his 3-year rabies vaccine in December. A very pragmatic fellow, he also encouraged me to book my annual physical, and he insists you do the same. Our big, orange ball of fluff firmly believes it’s his duty to see to it that, as his personal scribe, I stay in shape.

And you? Well, my goodness, you’re his sponsor! Your health and welfare are paramount to Steven’s own wellbeing: after all, he wouldn’t even be here, living the grand life, if it weren’t for you. So… punch in that phone number or use your patient portal to make that all-important appointment for a wellness checkup. Steven emphatically and, might I add, very dramatically insists!

I’m pleased to report that, up to his usual antics, Steven continues to pester Baby, beg for food, and pee where he pleases. It may be a new year, but some things never change. The medical staff did ask Steven if he might consider making an effort to pee in a litter box as his resolution for 2026. Alas, their request was immediately rebuffed. Steven simply shook his head, rolled his eyes, and uttered a simple, yet sarcastic, one-word reply.

Really?

“Really?”

Enough said on that matter! Steven quickly changed the subject to remind me that Tabby’s Place has four new sponsorable cats this year: Chester, Chicken Nugget, Rori, and Willow. Steven generously looks out for new sponsorees and encourages you to reach out to your friends, family, and associates on their behalf.

He hopes that, like you, they will find a long-term relationship with their chosen feline friend soul-satisfying, entertaining, and personally rewarding. Sponsors like you are a lifeline for these cats and, as you know, their gratitude (and ours) is beyond anything words or meows can ever express. Thank you!

In recent days, Steven has been able to interact with a resident of our Medical Office named Eartha. She is named after the famous singer Eartha Kitt—isn’t that clever?

Adjacent to the Medical Suite, the office houses Eartha as well as two other cats. Unfortunately, one of Eartha’s roommates sometimes gets a bit testy around her, so the medical team has been experimenting with letting Eartha spend supervised time with Steven and Baby.

An energetic girl, she loves having room to explore and frolic, and the boys don’t seem to mind her one bit. Of course, when medical procedures are in progress, Eartha returns to the office. So far, it’s a win-win for everyone.

In some very exciting news, Steven received a special December gift that he is excited to share with you: NBC featured Tabby’s Place on Philly Live! Click here to see a wonderful story about Tabby’s Place and to see our own Steven as one of the stars of the segment! Thank you for helping make this possible.

And speaking of big news, you are cordially invited to Tabby’s Place for Your Feline Valentine on Saturday, February 7th! This open house runs from 12-4pm, but the first hour (12-1) is just for sponsors like you. Steven is eager to lavish you with grateful whisker-kisses, and there will be festive refreshments and cozy visiting time with all the cats. We’ll send a reminder about the event later this month, and we hope you can join us.

Steven and I look forward to a fabulous new year. Our resident philosopher appreciates your willingness to embrace his philosophical ponderings, memorable musings, and generally cheerful outlook toward life. Thanks to your steadfast support, he has a wonderful life beyond even his wildest imaginings …and he knows it.

We couldn’t be more grateful!

Your correspondent,
Tina
