Dear Friends,
I hope you’re enjoying the long summer days and staying cool. It’s been super hot and humid lately, and we haven’t been strolling as much. I appreciate that the kind stroller volunteers care so much about us that they monitor the weather to keep us safe. And I’m grateful for the occasional strolls when the weather cooperates.
My roommates did not appreciate my redecorating efforts from my “me party” last month. I know this because we now have a new trashcan that I’m unable to get into (…for now).
And so, I look for new ways to entertain myself between meals and naps. I gaze out my window at all the action and lure in the humans with my good looks. Once they enter my space, I scoot over quickly and cuddle up with my people. It’s the best feeling in the world – right up there with eating and strolling!
Because I have a bag fetish, I was gifted a reusable grocery bag as an enrichment toy. This has provided me (and everyone who can see me from the Quinn’s Corner lobby) hours of entertainment. I somehow managed to get partway through a handle and wore the bag like a fashion statement. It wasn’t tight or dangerous, but I wasn’t able to get out of it on my own (they tell me my legs don’t work so well). Two lovely staff members helped me out. (Be assured that I am always supervised when playing with the bag.)

My good friend continues to visit me once a week and brush me while distracting me with treats. I’m starting to like the luxurious feel of my fur after being brushed. Plus, there are treats! That means more joy and less grumpiness on my part.
I’m happy to report that the lump they found on my tail and biopsied last month turned out to be a big, fat nothing – literally. It’s a harmless fatty lump. The amazing medical team and staff all breathed a big sigh of relief!
Each time we send these updates, it’s another reminder of just how lucky I am to have you as a friend. Not a day goes by that I don’t thank my stars for bringing you into my life. May the rest of this month bring you lots of joy, sunshine, and good vibes.
Big furry kisses,
Anka
