It’s 2025, Team Moo Moo!
A very Happy New Year to you!
We had a lovely holiday season at Tabby’s Place. We always get lots of attention from everyone here, but during the holidays it feels like we get even more pets and head kisses than usual. Best of all, after many days of being on a lower-calorie diet—I know (big exhale) it’s to keep us healthy—we got treats again! Oh, what JOY! I’m going to have to make a New Year’s resolution to be a better sharer though. I was told I was being a bit selfish, not wanting to share treats with my friends. It’s just that I get so excited!
Christmas Eve dinner was wonderful. People were talking about how some Italian families observe The Feast of the Seven Fishes. They gave us fish dinners too. We thoroughly enjoyed it. I wonder why these families only do it once a year. I wouldn’t mind multiple fish and seafood choices daily!

Correspondent Nancy thinks I’m a walking, talking work of art. She just loves my fur. Apparently, I’m what’s called a dilute calico cat because my calico colors are soft shades. She says I look like a watercolor painting. As you can see, I got turned into one! I feel so special.
This has inspired me to take an interest in the arts!
My New Year’s resolution is to become a more cultured cat and explore beauty in the world around me. For instance, I’ve begun to notice that some of my Tabby’s Place cat friends look like famous paintings.
Did you know that English artist Louis Wain was famous for his works of cat art? I think Marco looks like his drawing.
Marco was rescued from a bombed building in Beirut and sent here to Tabby’s Place. He had terrible injuries. He must have been so scared and in so much pain. I suspect he didn’t understand a word of what was being said to him. What he did understand was the universal language of being in loving hands. He never hissed at anyone and never swatted while being dipped in smelly lime sulfur for ringworm. Never acted out, even after his surgeries. Everyone loves Marco. How could we not?

I also think Boobalah looks like a Louis Wain painting! I wonder if the cat in the painting looks as good in a diaper though. Boobalah really rocks hers. Part of exploring the beauty around me is noticing when my friend wears all colors of diapers in style.

While I’m on the subject of friends, I have sad news to share with you. A member of my lobby family, Cora, crossed the rainbow bridge this month. She was so very nice and always willing to help out at the reception desk. I’m going to miss her.
On a happier note, the staff and volunteers have been hanging paper snowflakes all over the place for the New Year, New Home! adoption event coming up on January 18th. It’s a very happy event because everyone here hopes for a family of their own. We’re all happy when someone gets a forever home. What I don’t understand is why they’re hanging them so high up. They look like they would be fun to play with! I do, however, recognize the beauty in the decorations, because I am a cultured cat.
Speaking of snowflakes, wow, how cold it got since last month! At times when I’m near the entrance doors and someone comes in, I can feel the chill. I was sometimes gasping for air indoors before I started getting medicine. I can’t even imagine how bad my asthma would be if I was outside in freezing temperatures. I’m grateful to be safe, warm, and feeling well.
There’s a different kind of beauty that isn’t like a painting or a song. Love, kindness, and generosity are more beautiful than any work of art could ever be. Thank you, dear sponsor, for what you do to help me. I think you are truly beautiful.
Love,
Moo Moo
