Dear Team Luna,

Happy holidays from your favorite feline and glad tidings all around!  The lovely Luna sends salutations to each and every one of you who have been so supportive to her throughout this highly unusual year. Certainly, 2020 has proved challenging for all of us, and Luna has sorely missed spending time with you.  She couldn’t be more sincere in wishing you good health, happiness, and prosperity as we move forward into what promises to be a brighter future.  Won’t it be wonderful when we can all visit each other again?

Now for some unpleasant news: November saw Luna suffering a URI (upper respiratory infection), a bout of diarrhea, and a slight weight loss.  She was put on medication to help with the diarrhea and given a course of antibiotics for the respiratory infection.  Just in time for Thanksgiving, Luna was taken off medications for those two issues. For that, she was truly grateful, and she was able to enjoy a very lovely holiday.

Unfortunately, there is more medical news to report. Luna developed a new skin lesion under her left eye that then spread to both eyes and more of her face.  Although she’s not one to complain, we knew she was in discomfort and increased her steroid dosage to help with the flare-up.  We’re happy to report she is responding well to treatment.  Luna will be visiting with her dermatologist soon and we’ll be sure to give you a full report in our next letter.

In the meantime, Luna wants you to know she’s stayed busy as the poster cat for The Linda Fund Matching Challenge.  A real trooper, she takes her role very seriously. After all, those photoshoots and public service announcements do require some time.

Never one to let her celebrity status go to her head, she continues her duties in the lab (resting only when we insist).  For all those who donated to the Linda Fund Matching Challenge, please know that the amazing outpouring of love resulted in Tabby’s Place reaching the goal in record time!  It’s was a great way to double the love for kitties like her and help provide the world-class care Luna believes every cat deserves.  We continue our year-end call out for donations and appreciate every single person who had it in their hearts to donate.
