Happy New Year, friends of Faye!
I am pleased to share that we are starting off 2020 on an optimistic note. As I mentioned in last month’s update, we started Faye on a chemotherapy drug that is typically very effective in treating kitties with Faye’s recent diagnosis. Although she experienced some significant weight loss early in the month, it seems that now that the medicine is in her system, she is doing much better. She has had several reports of good stool this month, which is also a strong indicator that the medication is working. I’m also happy to report that I’ve chatted with a few of our wonderful volunteers who have been spending time with Faye, and they told me that she looks great and seems to be adjusting to her medication.
One unexpected “side effect” is that Faye seems to be much more lovey-dovey than usual and seems to be craving extra affection. We are always happy to oblige—in fact, one of Faye’s favorite friends makes sure to always put a big, fluffy bed atop the ramps, so she can lounge in comfort when she’s hanging out in the suite. Beyond what seems to be some all-around-awesome news, there’s not much more to report. Our kitties tend to adopt the slow pace of winter and snuggle in for lots of naps when the weather starts to get chilly. But that doesn’t mean there’s no news at all. Drumroll, please . . .
Faye’s birthday is this month! Our glamour girl is celebrating her 14th rotation around the sun!
Happy Birthday to you . . .
Happy Birthday to you . . .
Happy Birthday, dear Faaaaaye . . .
Happy Birthday to you!
(*Disclaimer: okay, real talk—we have no idea when Faye’s birthday actually is, but we celebrate all our kitties’ birthdays on January 1st each year).
Faye and I hope your year is off to a peaceful start and that as you read this, you are snuggled up safe and warm under your favorite, fuzziest blanket, with your coziest socks, and some hot cocoa with extra marshmallows. Faye’s secret recipe, by the way, is to stir a few marshmallows into the hot chocolate so they make it extra yummy, and then put even more on top! Faye and I look forward to spending this year with you, as we continue our monthly correspondence! Thank you for being our friend, and for your generous support for sweet Faye, who looks forward to a bright, happy new year with her Tabby’s Place family and friends. We’ll talk again soon, friends . . .
Your correspondent,
Beth
