Update for Kitten Fund

Dear Kitten Fund friends,

The revolving kitten door spins ever on. Since last month’s update, these wee ones have been adopted: Georgia (pictured at right) and Picasso (together); Sherlock and Tyrion (together); Pam and Malory (together); Cheryl; Archer; Lana; and Sterling.

Three out of four Sons/Daughters of Anarchy (Opie, Jax and Chibs) are in Ringworm quarantine, but acting like happy maniacs through it all. Sister Jema somehow eluded the foul fungus, and is in foster care, as are Frida and Amy.

Meantime, our Kitten Room is host to the Particles (Lepton, Boson and Quark); the Russians (Gregor, Yuri, Pasha and Polina); Artimus; and chatty deaf cutie Pablo, who came to us all the way from North Carolina. Pending clearance from Quarantine, they’ll still be joined by Gil, Golly, Maude, Otto, Janae, Weezy, Cletus, Romy and Michelle.

Got all that? I use that phrase regularly, don’t I? It truly has been a revolving door – I don’t even get to meet some of these sweeties before they’re swept off to their forever families!

We all know, though, that it can’t be all sunshine and roses, no matter how we wish it could. We continue to have serious medical concerns about Amy and Frida. Sadly, tiny Frida (pictured below left) has multiple devastating congenital defects in her heart, meaning that her time with us is extremely short. Her loving foster mom has agreed to nurture Frida for however long she may live. We are heartbroken, yet grateful this tiny warrior will know love all the days of her life.

Amy has already been a bit of a project at her young age. She’s been cared for by our vet tech Denise since her first day with us, and that’s a very good thing for Amy. How many cats do you know that merit visits to specialists in their first weeks of life? We’re still not entirely certain what’s behind Amy’s stubborn gastrointestinal issues, but we’ve got an excellent team on the case.

I can tell you, however, that Amy is not lacking in spunk, not in the least. Since she lives with Denise, she travels back and forth between home and Tabby’s Place with her devoted foster mama. During the day, she stays in her own room, and the other day when I visited, she was in the shower room. Amy must have been waiting for her moment all day, because the instant Vance opened the door to go into the room, Amy shot out. She’s a cute little black kitten an elusive tiny little ball of black fluff who is adept at evasive maneuvers, and she gave Vance quite a run for his money before she allowed him to corral her and return her to her room. I confess, I didn’t help Vance. I was rooting for Team Amy!

Thank you, as always, dear sponsors, for supporting our little ones no matter what they face. Your generous spirits make all the difference in the lives of our kittens.
