Update for Newman

Dear Newman friends,

I hope this beautiful month of May brings you as much happiness as Newman has gratitude in his heart for you.

Suite FIV has been a much mellower realm this month. This is almost certainly due to the fact that the cats once again have twice as much space; that is, the warm weather has enticed the cats out to the solarium, giving everyone more elbow room.

Yet on a beautiful Saturday afternoon recently, I found Newman and all his suitemates tucked indoors and, hmmm, how do I say this, extremely unenthusiastic. I tried to energize the room, but it was a tough crowd. I think perhaps another volunteer or two had tired them out before I arrived. It is tough to be popular!

I discovered that a sleepy Buddy is one who will not only accept love, but actually want it, and seek it out. Buddy approached me and pushed his head into my hand. I spent some time luxuriating in the warmth that is Buddy. The photo at left shows Buddy when I first approached him. He gave me that heart-melting Buddy smile, which previously I had only received from afar.

Eventually, Newman, Lester, Sonny and Bo took to the solarium tube and enjoyed some fresh air. There was little play time, though, as rest and relaxation was more the theme of the afternoon. I have never seen them so mellow in all my time volunteering here at Tabby’s Place.

Everyone at Tabby’s Place (both species) is stoked for springtime, but perhaps no one so much as Newman. If most cats love the solarium, Newman loves the solarium with the heat of 100,000 suns. Our boy has been positively gleeful out there in recent weeks, with a joy that matches his good health.

Newman thanks you from the bottom of his heart for all you make possible for him. Your generosity wraps him in love every single day.
Please come see him if you get the chance; he would love to thank you in person.
