Have we survived the worst of what this winter has in store for us? I certainly hope that we have, and that spring weather will be at our doorstep soon!
For Newman, it doesn’t matter too much. Sure, he’d love to bask in the warmth of the sun, but for now the heated igloos are suiting him just fine. We spent some time outdoors again recently, but only after Newman encouraged his BFF Buddy to leave the safe haven of the tunnel to the solarium. Once outdoors, Newman was as feisty as he’d been during my last visit. We played and played and played, as you can see in the photo at right.
For some reason, Juju (pictured below) didn’t venture outside with us this time. Nonetheless, the two of us found plenty of play time indoors. She has become very affectionate and very interested in human attention, which will certainly help her capture the hearts of potential adopters!
It seems like Newman is having a fabulous influence on both Juju and Buddy. Quite suddenly, Buddy and Juju’s volunteer socializers are all commenting on how friendly they have become. We know they’ve learned a lot from the ever-gregarious Newman.
Newman is calmer these days at the dinner hour.
The crisis is over! The crisis of 5pm, that is; until recently, this was a chaotic hour in the life of Suite FIV, as some of the cats were crated, others were released, and food flew in all directions. Starting this month, the entire suite is now free-feeding, and peace is restored ’round the clock. Their shared diet is a prescription diabetic-friendly food (for Charlie, the sole diabetic in the room).
Thank you as always for all that you make possible. I hope that this update finds you well and warm. Newman would love to see you, so please stop by if you can! Looking forward to bringing you the April update.
