Dear Kitten Fund friends,
And then there were…none? All is quiet in the Community Room these days. You see, just a few days ago, our last two kittens, Camille and Benny, were adopted into a forever home together! Making matters sweeter, they were scooped up by the very person who’d done Camille’s long, labor-intensive training: our volunteer behaviorist. This wonderful woman must have spent hundreds of hours working with Camille over the past several months, and in the process they formed an unbreakable bond.
So what about Benny (pictured here)? Our behaviorist wasn’t the only one with whom Camille had formed a lifelong attachment. Ultimately she couldn’t bear to split up these two adoptive siblings.
At the moment, we’re all catching our breath as we await the inevitable arrival of springtime kittens. Now that the season has finally turned, we all know that a flood of little ones will soon follow. Any bets on how many kittens we might have at a time this year? Or whether we’ll have another SuperMom like Juanita?
In the meantime, we’ve always got our not-kittens-anymore to love on. I told you about Rangpurr’s progress last month. Our friend Samantha is a suitemate of his. She, too has learned a bit about trusting humans, but she’s still a wary girl and doesn’t like too much attention. And just this month, Gabriel, a quiet orange boy, was returned to Tabby’s Place. He’s grown into a big cat, unlike the little guy who left us two years ago, but he’s still a sweetheart.
Thank you, as always, for helping us to create and find the perfect homes for our little ones, wherever those homes may be. Perhaps by the next time I write, we’ll have some new kittens at the sanctuary. I’ll be sure to share their inspiring stories. In the meantime, enjoy the long-awaited Spring!
