Longtime, big-hearted Tabby’s Place volunteer Larry has begun a habit of putting his thoughts and feelings about the cats into words. Special thanks go to Larry for letting us share his musings with the wider Tabby’s Place family.
Thoughts from Larry: The Gift
byExperimenting with spices

You know how it goes: you’re trying out a new recipe, and it includes a spice you’ve never tried - something weird, like fenugreek or chicory. You throw a pinch in, hesitantly. When you taste your concoction, it’s actually…really good. So you throw in a little more. Maybe a lot more. And then…it’s not so good. So you throw it out and start over again, and this time you stick with basil and oregano.
So how the heck does this apply to cats? In a word: Paprika.
Ruthless and toothless

If there’s got to be an aggressive cat in a suite of 15, it helps if he also happens to also be the toothless one.
Despite being dentally challenged, Desi has been causing quite a stir in Suite C the last couple of weeks.
Gumbo’s new groove: update
by
Tiny Tony lookalike Gumbo went through so many false alarms before finding his forever family. But, as you can see in this e-mail, Gumbo’s new life of love was every bit worth the wait. Special thanks to Gumbo’s new mom, Stephanie, for letting me share her words with you.
Reunited and it feels so good

A little over a week ago, I had the opportunity to attend the sixth annual Pennsylvania Bar Institute Animal Law Conference in Philadelphia.
That means that lawyers all over the Keystone State are devoting their time, gifts and love to thinking about and working for needy animals. Heaven knows the cats (and dogs, and eared sea lions) could use a good advocate. All of this gives me tremendous encouragement.
OK, I’m jumping the gun a tad, but the happy reunion will feel so good.
