Update for Tux

Dearest Friend of Tux,

Tux’s eyes are extra rosy this month!

Between his catnaps, our elderly gentleman has a twinkle in his eye.

It’s the season of shamrocks and all things green. Yes, green hues have returned to the color palette of Ringoes, NJ, and spring seems to be afoot!

After what seemed like a never-ending winter of grayscale (think dull skies, windy white-outs, and grimey gray snow piles), the sight of brown mud, blue skies, and leafy green grass and bulb sprouts has not just the Irish eyes, but many feline eyes smiling.

Tux, who perpetually views the world through his very own “rose-colored glasses,” decided that the best way to ward off the winter blues was to increase the percentage of daylight hours spent with his eyes closed.

Tux emerges and stretches after his winter catnap.

And then Tux awoke to a series of wonderful things.

Tabby’s Place was filled with young people sharing stories with the cats. An odd-looking cat, in a very tall hat, was allowed to roam freely between rooms and down forbidden hallways. Strollers were dusted off, and wheels were lubed. Then, on the morning of March 8, breakfast was served early?!

This last surprise had many feline eyes twinkling, and now it seems that spring fever is spreading throughout the sanctuary.

Tux has emerged from his long winter’s nap, enjoyed a good stretch, and moved to warm and sunny windowsills where he plans to watch the rainbow color palette erupt in the gardens of Tabby’s Place.

Tux and I want to thank you, dear sponsor, for keeping our spirits aloft during this winter season in Ringoes. Your love kept our hearts warm through freezing temperatures and our outlook hopeful through a final blizzard.

Tux shares his heart of gold with you!

We look forward to experiencing the rainbow of beauty that lies ahead in 2026, and can’t begin to express our gratitude for your support each step of the way. Tux may not be a leprechaun, but he promises to share his heart of gold with you!

Your Correspondent,

Lisa

P.S. Don’t be alarmed by the reference to the strange, free-roaming feline. On Saturday, March 7th, Tabby’s Place hosted a special Paws to Read event in association with Read Across America Day. Our very own volunteer, Cat in the Hat, was on the scene.
