Update for Tux

Dear Friend of Tux,

Tux loves you and feels your love every day!

For families, September tends to be a very busy time of year. The young humans return to school, the young adults may return to college or set off on their own for the first time, and parents of the young folks, like me, shuffle their schedules and fret about their offspring. While my oldest is settled back into college life many miles away, my younger is busy with college applications that will soon take him off too.

Here at Tabby’s Place, we bid farewell to a bunch of volunteers, who themselves are off to pursue life beyond Ringoes, NJ. But you are ALWAYS here for Tux, and he feels your love every day, no matter the distance.

Tux is missing a very special person right now as his Ginny is off on an adventure of her own, traveling Route 66. She asked that I take extra special care of our dear gentleman cat in her absence, and of course I am happy to do so.

“Meow!”

Tux and Ginny have an understanding, and she always knows what he wants when he asks. In the week before she left, Ginny shared a particular moment that made her laugh.

Tux had spent several hours curled up napping on the desk, when he suddenly stood up, stretched, looked right at Ginny, and gave a meow. She responded with, “Alright, are you ready for some food?” Ginny stopped what she was doing, got up, and prepared a fresh bowl of wet food that she knew Tux had liked previously. When Ginny returned with the tray, Tux promptly started enjoying his meal.

Not only is Tux particular about his pates and filets, he eats on his own schedule, which, typically, does not coincide with the scheduled service times at Tabby’s Place. This is why we always make sure there is some snacking kibble available for Tux whenever he wants a bite.

Voted most likely to woo new sponsors.

As a member of Tux’s family, we wanted you to be among the first to see his most recent “senior portrait.” Our social media team and graphic designer have been busy creating content and easy to share images of all of our Special Needs cats to increase awareness of our monthly sponsorship programs.

If you happen to be active on social media, please share Tux’s pic and tag Tabby’s Place in your post. We rely on friends and family to spread the word about our mission, and Tux is an ideal ambassador.

Tux and I wish you a joyful September, wherever your adventures may lead you. We are so grateful to count you as a member of our family!

Your correspondent,
Lisa
