Update for Tux

Tux enjoys an elevated view.

Dear Friend of Tux,

While the longest day of the year has yet to arrive, Summer is in full swing at Tabby’s Place.

Tux loves sunshine so the return of the summer sun is always welcome in his eyes. He feels it warm his soul, just as it warms his paw pads and his tummy.

For the last few months, the Tabby’s Place staff were concerned that something wasn’t quite the same with Tux. His routines were off kilter and his precious office time with Ginny had been overrun with too many assistants (just like too many hands in the kitchen).

But something began to change when the sunshine returned to the Community Room. Tux started making new friends.

One-time rivals for desk space with Ginny, Tux and Smores began sharing window seats and cushy blankets. Tux began exploring the wall shelves and cat trees with greater frequency.

Tux and Smores enjoy the sunshine.

But a strange disturbance in the Force remained.

Recently, in response to staff requests, we did some furniture moving in the Community Room. Since the opening of Quinn’s Corner, only one workstation remains in what was once our shared office space (the Community Room). That one workstation is the center of administrative matters, but its location (you may recall the news about the new desk and new location earlier this year) was too removed from a view of the room and the door. Both Tux and Ginny need to see who is coming and going in order to maintain order.

With the new arrangement, the administrative desk is back in the corner where it used to be but is oriented to face out into the room.

Suddenly all is back in balance. Tux has a bed on the corner of his shared desk. He has a stairway that leads to his bed. He gets to sit on the desk and look out the window at the same time. He gets to see everything that is happening in the Community Room. He has Ginny to himself (at least some of the time). And most importantly, he seems quite happy about the new arrangement.

Was it the change of season or the feline feng shui? We don’t really know, but it doesn’t really matter. Tux is happy, Ginny is happy, and balance has returned to the Community Room.

Tux approved location.

Tux is living his best life at Tabby’s Place all because of his wonderful friends like you!

Happy Summer, and please enjoy the sunshine. And by the way, if you enjoy stories about our cats, you may enjoy our blog, where we post at least three times every week.
