Update for Tux

Happy New Year, Dear Friend!

Tux and I hope that you enjoyed a holiday season filled with joy. We hope you managed to stay safe and healthy while still spending time with those you love. Tux has been enjoying the transition to 2022 since he is back in his beloved Community Room surrounded by his human and feline friends. His world is filled with hope, thanks to loving folks like you!

What is new in Tux’s world?

Well the winter weather has brought a halt to construction activity outside the windows. Falling snowflakes are amusing, but not as much for seasoned felines like Tux. Just give him a warm fluffy bed if the sunshine is hiding. Tux is hopeful that these winter months will still be filled with days of sunshine.

Tux’s roommate, Indiana, moved into a forever foster* and a new older guy moved in to fill the open space. The new guy is named Lemmy and he is a friendly tabby who has discovered some of the same joys and comforts that Tux loves so much about the Community Room—cozy beds and busy desks. Tux is happy to share his comforts with other friendly felines and hopes that Lemmy feels the same. So far they seem to have a gentlemanly relationship of mutual respect.

Tux continues to endure periodic episodes of constipation that the veterinary team relieves with an enema treatment. I imagine you might cringe at the thought, but Tux accepts his treatments as any gentleman would do, with his head held high and no feelings of ill will. It is a challenge that doesn’t get any easier as Tux ages, but he does his very best to stay optimistic. This is why he is so grateful that he has you in his life. The daily care and monitoring that he receives at Tabby’s Place is only possible because of your love and support.

Tux and I wish you a year filled with sunshine, hope, and happiness!

Lisa

*A “forever foster” is an adoptive home with special considerations for the medical and behavioral needs of the cat and the expenses associated with those needs. Indiana is still under the veterinary care of Tabby’s Place, but he gets to live out his days in the comfort of his very own home.
