Update for Tux

Dear Friends of Tux,

Tux is thrilled to be back among old friends and new in the Community Room that he calls home. He happily reports that we have conquered the ringworm outbreak and all of his fellow “quarantined” kitties are back in cozy beds and familiar places. Consetta and Faith returned to the Community Room from quarantine about a week after Tux, and new resident, Lemmy (a sweet elderly tabby boy) was happy to greet his new friends.

Tux admires the holiday decorations.

Tux and I had a warm reunion on the day he returned. He gave everything a good sniff and investigation before settling into his old routines. His investigations included my work bag. Before nestling down beside it for a nap, Tux made sure to stake his claim with many face rubs.

Here at Tabby’s Place, several of our staff went all out to decorate for the holiday season. Since we were closed to all but a very few volunteers last winter, everyone is excited to welcome our scheduled visitors and volunteers. The stockings and garlands are hung and the trees are decorated and lit. Tux has been extra thorough in his investigations to make sure that everything is welcoming in the Community Room.

In the spirit of the season, a group of local children made a batch of handmade holiday cards for the kitties of Tabby’s Place. Tux agrees with the staff that his young artistic friend certainly captured his likeness (see photo below).

Tux surveys the construction progress

One of Tux’s many responsibilities is to keep track of the progress of our building expansion. As you can see in the photo, great progress has been made, but there is still much going on outside the windows. A bit more disconcerting for Tux (and even more so for many of his roommates) are the loud sounds just on the other side of the Community Room wall. Construction noise can be quite intense and has interrupted more than a few morning meetings, phone calls, and cat naps.

Tux thinks this is a wonderful likeness of him!

Tux has been in relatively good health since returning to the Community Room. His spirits are certainly bright. He joins me in wishing you all the twinkle and sparkle of this holiday season. Thank you for loving him throughout the year!
