Update for Tux

Dear Friends of Tux,

I’ve long been enthralled by autumn. The crisp air seems to be filled with the magic of transformation as apples ripen and leaves begin to turn. September brought that pleasant mix of both warm and chilly days. While the weather change is not as profound in the Community Room of Tabby’s Place, Tux seems to be atingle with something magical too.

I am pleased to report that he has been in good health this month. No news is good news for the older felines and Tux is quite stable in terms of health. His antics on any given day of fall are far less predictable.

There are days when Tux has his “investigating feet” on. He scales the shelves and leaves no workspace untouched by his nose. He was a bit out of sorts that his administrative assistant took a week of vacation late last month. Tux wanted to work, and there was no one to help. He even took to exploring my desk in hopes of finding something to keep him busy. Upon the return of his most loved assistant, he came running over with much love to give.

And then there are days when Tux sleeps so soundly that I stop to watch just to make sure that he is still breathing. He always is, and while he may not open his eyes and acknowledge my proximity,  he will frequently begin to purr. The fall seems to cast a spell over the  Community Room on some days, making each feline extra floppy, blinky, and snuggly. On days like this, we should be reminded to slow down a bit and stop to sniff the pumpkins, just in case they magically turn into pumpkin pie.

A lazy afternoon for Sammy and Tux

Tux and I wish you a magical fall season filled with warmth and coziness. We thank you for your continued support. Stay safe and warm, and take a nap when you need to do so!
