Update for the TNR Fund

Update for the TNR Fund

Happy July, Team TNR.

I hope this update finds you flourishing like a lily in the sunshine. Thanks to you, that’s just what our TNR kitties have been up to.

Last month‘s little wonders, Sunflower and her newborns Lucy and Desi (pictured here), are doing magnificently. Actually, that’s an understatement. Not only are they happy, healthy, and having a blast being loved and adored, they are all on hold to be adopted.

Together.

Three out of three.

That’s cause for a happy dance — let’s make it a TNR tarantella — if you ask me. It’s no great shock when kittens are adopted, even in pairs, but to go to a loving home with their own mama in tow? Well, that nearly borders the miraculous. Mama cats are chronically overlooked as their kittens get scooped up, but this brave, loving mom has found her forever family — and she’ll get to baby her real babies forever. We’re elated to say the least!

But Sunflower isn’t the only sweet former stray blooming this month. You may recall brave Hellman’s, the feral fella with a mayonnaise jar stuck on his noggin last summer. Since rescuing this condiment-crazed boy from his sad, silly situation, we’ve provided care for his whole colony, spaying and neutering the lot of them. Hellman’s and friends are doing just fine…but this summer, it seems they’ve attracted some new, unneutered neighbors.

Where there are unneutered cats, there will be kittens. And so, our newest residents are Cholula, Hollandaise and Aioli. (We just can’t contain our condiment creativity.) As of this writing, our shy little sauces are still rather scared, but fortunately they’re young enough to learn the ways of love. In TNR, it’s always best if we can get to babies before they reach eight weeks of age, a critical turning point in terms of being able to trust humans.

Dearest sponsors, it’s only thanks to you that cats like Sunflower, Desi, Lucy and our new babies can trust in a long, happy life of love. Thank you for your faithful generosity, and know that you are making marvelous things bloom every day at Tabby’s Place!
