August greetings to you!
Lots to tell you about this month, so away we go:
At the top of the screen are gray mom Shakira and the gray kittens she gave birth to: Phish, Aerosmith, Zeppelin, and Joplin.
But she’s now a mother to five kittens, as foster mom Donna explains: “Camilla was a newborn from a barn litter and was not doing well. I rubbed some scent from the other kittens onto her and mom Shakira accepted her into the litter straight off. She is a great mom.”
I’ll add that everyone here thinks you’re great too for helping Shakira, Camilla, and all the foster kittens Tabby’s Place is caring for.

Foster Coordinator Tiana has the numbers from the past month: “In July we saw 18 new cats added to foster, including our newest pregnant mom, Vanessa… there were 6 neonatal kittens, 4 born in our care, and 2 lone neonatal kittens that were brought to us by good Samaritans, all of which are doing very well.
Many of our June and early July kittens have already found their forever homes. Thank you all for your continued support!” (You can see a bunch of them at Tabby’s Place Instagram.)
During the past month, Tiana marked her 2-year anniversary at Tabby’s Place, keeping everything squared away with the foster cats and the humans who invite them into their homes.

When the Roundtable wrapped up, I visited the kitten room. Several black kittens immediately set about untying and playing with both my shoelaces, but one kitten, mostly black with white on its chest and tummy, instead approached my bench, leaped up onto it next to me, and placed herself on my lap. I began to pet the little one, who responded with loud purring.
I later learned that this was Geena, one of the “A League of Their Own” kittens. She had been fostered a little while back, and plainly she had been well-socialized.
We enjoyed good Quality Time for several minutes, but eventually, she became aware of the shoelace play going on a few feet below her, and she joined the crew down there.

At the other end of the color spectrum is pure white (mostly) Napkin, looking adorable both on her back (image by foster mom Erin) and seated demurely in the Kitten Suite the day I visited. But, there’s spice to go with that sugar, for as Erin reports, “She can have some kitty-tude.” (Napkin is brat?)
Here are just a few of the kittens who have been cared for by Tabby’s Place with your help in the past month.
Before I go, I want to share a blog post from our Development Director, Angela, who emphatically proclaimed this “THE! SUMMER! OF! KITTENS!” And each and every one of them is well-loved.
Until next month, thank you for your faithful generosity. Wishing you all good things!
