Update for Taylor Ham

Hello, Dear Sponsors!

My name is Kim, and I am a long-time volunteer and cat correspondent at Tabby’s Place. I was happy to fill in this month to cover Taylor Ham’s happenings while his regular writer is away. She will return next month.

“Woe is me” this month, as a recent arm injury kept me away from Tabby’s Place. When I was able to return, I was still not able to assist the Stroller Team, who walks cats outside in pet carriages.

But, the weather has not been favorable for this activity anyway, so I decided on one of those rainy days to visit with Taylor Ham. He seemed delighted for the company!

I told him all about my injury, and how hard it is to have to take care of yourself when you are used to providing care to others. It seemed like he nodded in understanding, with his big eyes aglow. It has been a long road, I explained to him. He understood. He has traveled a long road to get to the care, comfort, and companionship at Tabby’s Place.

I told Taylor I knew that recent tests indicated that his diabetes is in remission. I cheered a little “yahoo” for him and shook his paw in congratulations. His diabetic-safe diet is helping, so it is important that he stay on this regimen. I teased him about trying to steal lunch items from staff members. I understand the temptation; we all do. But I reminded him of the importance of his overall health and moving forward in a positive direction. I know we can all use that reminder at times, too!

I found Taylor to be doing well and thriving under the good care he receives here at Tabby’s Place, thanks to you! It is wonderful to see how far he has come. I have included a few recent photos. I think you will agree that he looks terrific.

As we sat together and looked out the windows on that rainy afternoon, I told him how lucky he was to have so many people who love and support him. We thank you for your most generous gifts that have helped him to come so very far.

Your correspondent,
Kim
