Update for Taylor Ham

Dear Friends,

I’m soaking up sunshine

We kicked off August with beautiful weather here in New Jersey. I’m not a huge fan of strollers, but we have some cats that are Stroller Fanatics, and on nice days I enjoy watching them stroll by my window with our lovely volunteers. You can see the joy on their furry kitty faces as they take in all the sights and sounds.

I’m more of an indoor kind of guy. I don’t mind soaking up some sunshine; I just prefer to do it from my window seat. If there were an award for Laziest Cat on the Planet, I believe I could win it.

Our new guy, Bernard, is slowly starting to come around. While I—and my other kitty roommates—still consider him to be a nuisance, we are finding moments of peace. Bernard and I were even caught playing on opposite sides of the shower curtain in the staff shower room.

I’ve been told by a lovely Tabby’s Place staff member that I win the “nice” award for being the most tolerant of Bernard. That said, I’m glad he gets tucked away into his own space at night. Sometimes, small doses of certain friends are enough.

Ruchi has moved to the Lobby, and I hear he’s loving it. I continue to enjoy ‘lounging’ with Ruby and Leo. Leo is a big mush and loves people as much as I do. Luckily, there are enough cuddles to go around!

My correspondent recently visited me during feeding time. She was shocked at how quickly I could run to my food! It may be the only time I move that fast. She watched me scoff my food, take a quick kitty bath, then enjoy some cuddles and pets while we exchanged stories.

Despite being on a strict, regulated diet, I have not lost any weight. This has flummoxed the lovely staff, who continue to monitor my weight. (By the way, I have no idea what happened to the missing Dunkin’ Donuts glazed munchkins … wink, wink.)

I wish you lots of sunshine, sweets, and love during these long, lazy days of summer. Thanks for being such a great friend to me. I feel so lucky to have you in my life.

Much love,
Taylor Ham
