Update for Steven

Dear Team Steven,

After a series of thunderstorms, heavy downpours and very soggy weekends, spring has sprung at last…

… and with a vengeance.

The only plus of all the wet weather was that, for those of us with allergies, the pollen count was washed to a bare minimum.

June is happily bringing us lots of warmth and sunshine, and the solariums at Tabby’s Place are at capacity with cats (and people) soaking in the rays.

Steven had his annual vaccines this month and is in good health and great spirits.

A more self-satisfied cat than Steven we really have not seen. Our big, beautiful Orange Dreamsicle is one cool cat, just living his best life.

Unlike many other felines at Tabby’s Place, even cat carriers don’t phase him. You can find our resident philosopher properly poised and oh so genteel, paws contentedly crossed, while he stares happily into space pondering the universe.

We’re sure Steven has discovered the secret to true serenity — even with arthritis.  That Cheshire smile he sometimes wears just means he isn’t quite ready to divulge his discoveries to the rest of us yet.

Of course, being an impatient lad, Gator sidled up to Steven and did his best to cajole him into spilling the proverbial serenity beans. Gator waited and waited, but Steven was not especially forthcoming.

There was one afternoon when Gator and Steven did get into some sort of tussle. The staff heard screaming and found Steven cornered by Gator.  There were some tufts of fur on the floor, but Steven was physically fine. We don’t know if anyone else in the room was involved or not.

Steven does sometimes “tense up” when Copycat gets too close, but most days everyone is pretty chill in Suite J. And the secret to a serene “nine lives” remains Steven’s…at least, for now.

Steven does have a few choice recommendations for you, his wonderful sponsor, when it comes to enjoying your best life. Whether you prefer basking in the sun at the beach or traversing that shady summer hiking trail, just get out there and do it!

Sometimes, in the hustle and bustle of every day, it’s easy to forget that life is short. Make use of every day of this beautiful weather (rain or shine) to make your life sweet as well.

And, if someone happens to catch you wearing a Cheshire smile or a contented grin, send Steven and me your picture! Audiotape of contented purring will also be gratefully accepted and greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your faithful generosity to dear Steven. His summer will be sweet because of you!

Your correspondent,
Tina
